Listen to this, so we had just left one of turkey’s most expensive sushi restaurant called ‘Vogue’ and was about to head to the club where ‘Little John’ was performing that night. We ( jen, yolena and I) hopped in the cab and approximately 10 seconds after we pulled off, we were flag down by the police. Mind you, we are in a taxi, They asked us for our passport, wanted to know who we were? Why we were in Turkey? We didn’t give them our passport of course, because that’s the first thing you learn when you come overseas, never give your passport. There were two police, one was a Fenebache fan who is our biggest rival and the other was a Galatasaray (my team) fan which worked out in our favor, because if that wasn’t the case I don’t know where we would of ended the night. They did not really speak English and after about 10 minutes of not getting anywhere he finally let us go. Crazy right.
In my opinion, I think they pulled us over because they saw a black person, (my other 2 friends are white) this is not the first time that this has happen to me. One of the not-so-fun thing about Turkey. The night ended well though, we had a great time meeting ‘Little John‘.
