It really seems like Turkey is my home now since I have spent more time here than I have anywhere else in the past 3 years. But that’s not the case though, home is home no matter how long you are away from it. I met a friend on my flight and it made my trip so exciting and entertaining because we talked about every topic in the world for approximately 6 hours. We both slept for a couple hours and before you know it, it was time to land.
I arrived at my second home and was picked up by my team manager but could have driven myself to my apartment if necessary. Had my two hour detailed physical the following morning then practice later that night. The weather has been fabulous here so far, not to hot and not cold just right enough to wear shorts and a t-shirt, loving it.
The girls on team are very cool. I have Jia Perkins as the other American on my team, she is somewhat shy and comes off as gullible, so this is going to be a real interesting season with all the pranks that I am going to pull on her. (smile)
Im excited about this season over here, we are in the Euroleague this year because we won the Eurocup last season. My plans for the time that I’m over here are: to work hard to get better at basketball, be a better person, grow stronger in my faith and learn some turkish. Hope to get at least three out of this four. (smile)
